Auteur: Serge, Victor and Dalia Hashad (introduction)
Titel: What everyone should know about state repression
Sub titel: A Guide For Activists
Serge’s exposé of the methods of surveillance and harassment of political activists by the Czarist police reads like a spy thriller. But as Dalia Hashad points out in her introduction, this book will have a resonance with political activists today who face a new wave of repression under the Patriot Act and racial profiling in the name of the 'war on terror'. It's a crying cynical irony that this edition has been published by Ocean Press publishers, who are renowned for their their support of the repressive Cuban regime, which uses lots of the methods described by Victor Serge. If you read Dutch we refer you to the Dutch translation (Wat elke revolutionair moet weten over repressie) from publisher `Dolle Hond' [Mad Dog], which is also much cheaper (1,80 euro).
