Morris’s work as craftsman, designer and employer was inspired by Ruskin’s essay, ‘The Nature of Gothic’. In this lecture Clive Wilmer will argue that Ruskin had identified “a new road on which the world should travel”– a road that led, for Morris, to political and social revolution.
