Countless feminist writers, journalists and Twitter keyboard warriors before me have delved into the gravel pit of pop-cultural absurdity that the 2010s feminist revival has carved out for fast-fashion “this is what a feminist looks like” graphic tees. The devastating juxtaposition between short-lived, mass-produced textiles created by poor exploited women of colour and the “yayy girl power!”- message. I want to explore that bottomless pit of feminism entangled with capitalism further, cause sadly it doesn’t end at silly t-shirts.
