Autonomously and with conviction

A transcription o fa talk given on October 12, 2018, at the 13th annual Decolonizing Thanksgiving Dinner in Guelph, Ontario, on traditional neutral/Chonnonton, Anishinaabec, and Haudenosaunee territory. Excluded from any legal form of existing on land, following the Red River Rebellion, the experience of the Metis shows how far the Canadian state is willing to go to crush and dispossess those who it can’t “reconcile.”
