History of the Paris Commune of 1871

This is the classic history of the Paris Commune from a marxist point of view, now republished on the occasion of the 140th anniversary with a new preface by the writer and publisher Eric Hazan. The author, Lissagaray, had been a participant in the Commune and, after its suppression, worked for twenty-five years interviewing the survivors in exile and consulting the available documents.
