Poster Pocketbook Vol. 1 Spain 1936-39 Revolution and Civil War A6

The Radical Poster Collective was established in 2022 with the intention of colllating and making available a collection of radical posters. This is our first published collection with Active Distribution, hand-picked by the collective members, to give a flavour of the posters that were in circulation during the Spanish Revolution and Civil War. Propaganda posters became a vital tool in the struggle -in the context of relatively low iteracy levels – used by anarchist, social, and communist groups to rally support, educate the masses, and stance. These posters were not just art – they were adirect extension of the revolutionary movement, plastered on city walls, and dicituted in union halls. They symbolised and idealsed the wars defiance against fascism and their vision of a new style. Full color!
