Anti-capitalist britain

21.75

The book is essentially about the state of left and radical politics in the UK, delivered through a study of recent anti-capitalist protests and movements. Its underlying theme is the emerging relationship (and sometimes hostility) between established left organizations and the increasingly unified but disparate anti-globalization, anti-capitalist and direct action groups that have recently mobilized against the WTO and EU. The study considers whether an ‘anarchist shift’ is taking place on the British left and elsewhere. Whilst the text has a primarily domestic flavour, it also considers British anti-capitalism in an international context. To that effect, the book includes contributions from and about groups whose focus is beyond the domestic and which participate in wider campaigns.
