In April 1649 two ‘Diggers’, Gerrard Winstanley and William, Everard, appeared in Whitehall before the leader of the Army, Lord Fairfax to declare that deliverance was at hand. God is bringing his people out of slavery, Freedom is being restored. Lewis H. Berens was a Quaker, His study of Winstanley and the Diggers was first published in 1906. He also wrote a study on land values which was published in in 1915.
