German 20th century philosophy

The writings of the thinkers associated with the Frankfurt Institute for Social Research, the so-called Frankfurt School, speak more directly to us, at the dawn of a new century, than ever before. This collection, introduced and edited by Wolfgang Schirmacher, includes key writings by Max Horkheimer, an essay on Theodor W. Adorno, an important selection by Horkheimer and Adorno (from Dialectic of Enlightenment), as well as works by Walter Benjamin, Leo Lowenthal, Herbert Marcuse, Norbert Elias, and Jurgen Habermas.
